A friend of mine and I were talking about one of the world's most perfect foods, ice cream, and I casually mentioned how DL had a HUGE ice cream sundae called The Kitchen Sink. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if it's called The Kitchen Sink. Maybe I'm thinking of another name?

Now before this gets moved to the DL thread, I want to bring up the El Capitan as well. I know that there's an ice cream shop next door. Does this also serve the sundae I'm thinking of?

I also recall that there was a mega-sundae called Fantasia.

Could someone clarify this for me please? And could they also tell me what's in the sundae and about how many people it feeds?

A couple of years ago we were eating lunch at the Carnation Cafe, and when we finished, the hostess asked us to wait.
She came back with a large, hot fudge sundae and announced to everyone that we had been awarded the "Matterhorn Sundae" which was the largest sundae in Disneyland (according to her). If we were able to finish it (which of course we did) we would win a special prize.
Don't know if that helps or not!!! :)

Where was this large Sundae you were thinking of? Was it at Gibson Girl??

Fantasia was one of the ice cream flavors in the original Matterhorn Sundae from when The Carnation Cafe was the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor. Fantasia ice cream was Burgundy Cherry, Pistachio and Banana ice creams all mixed in one.

Isn't/Wasn't "The Kitchen Sink" at the PPH Grill Restaurant in the Paradise Pier Hotel?

You're right. I found this on the menu:

The Whole PCH Grill & Kitchen Sink - Ten Scoops of Ice Cream...then tell us what you don't want on it. $21.99

#7 was for #5.

Ohhhh, gottaluv, that sundae looks awesome! I want to find a picture of the Kitchen Sink at PPH.

So, Fantasia is at Disney Studio Store, does it have the fantasia flavored ice cream?

No regular flavors - but you get a pin that says I ate the whole thing!

I guess those two will have to do then; I'll show my friend the link.

So there's no gigantic sundae at DL itself? I'm assuming a sundae of mass proportions would only be served on Main Street.
