Moveon.org came out with an ad that shows they are complete morons

http://ap.google.com/article/A...91BTFQ80

Things that the ad tells you:

1. John McCain will somehow be President for the next 100 years. Quite a feat.

2. The draft is coming back.

3. And 2 year olds will become trained soldiers.

I truly hope that both McCain and Obama keep rejecting garbage like this throughout the entire campaign.

I agree. This is staright up Propaganda. And is dangerous. On both sides. The MoveOns and SwiftBoats are really ratcheting up the partisanship in this country.
I have heard that Obama is considering a Rep. for the VP. Someone like Chuck Hagel or Colin Powell. Colin Powell would definitely bolster his foriegn poly and security position. The GOP would have a tough time taking shots at Powell.

***John McCain will somehow be President for the next 100 years. Quite a feat.***

I assume cryogenics would be necessary?

Actually, that article (any links to the video) only implies one out of the three things Dar is accusing.

I would say it implies a draft is possible (otherwise how could he "take" the child), but the other two are just lies Dar made up.

The add talks about McCain's TRUE comment that we might end up remaining in Iraq for 100 years or more (similar to South Korea), and nothing whatsoever about 2 year old combat soldiers.

3 was meant to be sarcastic.

And while it could take 100 years to win this thing, that doesn't mean we will be there for the entire 100 years. And can't any President remove us if he or she wants to? The ad is suggesting that no President will have the ability to that.

As was 1.

Even McCain isn't implying it will take 100 years to "win this thing"...

I have to wonder how much you really follow the situation, Dar.

I think he follows it enough to know the Move On ad is idiotic.

Actually, having seen it now, I wonder what exactly is so idiotic about it?

The make some assumptions, that's for sure. But all based on what was stated by McCain.

Did he NOT say that we could be in Iraq for 100 years?

Assuming that much is true, the rest of the add makes sense.

What exactly is wrong with it?

The kid's a baby, and Sen McCain will only be President for 8 years, so no matter what he does he won't have any affect on whether the kid goes into the military when he old's enough. Also, it's not up to a mother whether their child joins the military. When they are adults, they can make up their own minds.
