My Dfiance and I were at DL on Tuesday June 10th.

We got up very early in Pacific Palisades and drove down. We arrived at the gates about 15 minutes prior to opening (8am) and waited outside. We were about 10th +11th in our line. It was an early entry for people at the hotels, which I didn't know. I chose the day because the park was open til 12, instead of the early closing the following two days because of grad nights. We have not seen Fantasmic, but it did not work into our schedule for this trip.

First I got us FPs for Space Mountain. We got in line for Nemo. The wait was 45 minutes so DF got coffee and chips from the dining place in Tomorrowland. He didn't want to sit down or hold a plate in line. He felt guilty enough when he got back in line. He's German and things like that are just not done. :-P We rode Nemo and enjoyed it, but also decided it was not on our MUST DO list for future trips. We were happy to see that a family that had to get out-of-line after 40 minutes of waiting because the little boy HAD to go to the bathroom right then was told they could and et back in where they had been post facilities-trip.

Then we went on Buzz Lightyear, another first for both of us. The wait was 10 minutes. DF was very unhappy that he scored in the lowest level and I was two levels ahead of him. He said he never wanted to go on it again. Later in the day he kept asking when we were going to go on Buzz again. Ha!

Next was FPs on Space Mountain, my favorite ride. The total wait was less than 5 minutes for us. I always wish the ride would last longer though.

Then we waited 30 minutes to go on Matterhorn. I enjoyed it as always.

Next I forced DF to go on the Storybook Land Attraction. He was really impressed with the plants and little villages. His mom really likes gardening, so he was excited to tell her about this ride. We were the only ones without kids under 10 in line though. There was a little girl wearing a shirt that said "I want it. You buy it. Any questions?" DF was horrified.

We got FPs for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We headed to Bengal BBQ. They were supposedly the first place in the park that would have lunch food, at 11. We waited in line for the place to open. A CM said he had never seen that happen before but we were 3rd and 4th in a line >10 people. We liked the three different skewers but thought that they would have been better if not just luke-warm (and upon opening too!). Our wait was less than 5 minutes on Big Thunder. It was great.

We got FPs for Splash Mountain. Then we went on Pirates after a 15 minute wait. It was WONDERFUL as always. For some reason we got the last row to ourselves and there was no one in the row ahead of us. DF tried to get us kicked out of the parks if you know what I mean.

Next was The Enchanted Tiki Room as there was no wait. I got a Dole Whip because there are so many fans of it on here. I didn't think it was that great actually. It was all right, but I would rather have something else. We did sing and sway along in the Tiki Room and were in a full house surrounded by kids (some under 2) who were all entranced. It was so cute.

We grabbed some FPs to Big Thunder by back tracking a little and headed over to Splash. We waited less than 5 minutes. It was DF's first time and it is totally his favorite ride. He loved the drop and getting wet.

We looked at our time windows and had 30 minutes til we could get another FP. We went on Pooh (5 min wait) and it was amusing. We were in a "Car" with two other young adult couples and we all thought that was really unusual and we were glad we were not with the teenagers behind us who were constantly yelling nonsense at each other for fun. (Of course I NEVER did that in my numerous trips to DL as a teen.)

We grabbed some FPs to Splash Mountain after I ate a perfect churro. We went on the railroad (20 min very warm wait) and did a full trip around DL. DF really enjoyed the Grand Canyon and Prehistoric World. I was glad to get a peek at ToonTown because I haven't been since the one time I went right after it opened. There was a cute little boy with a train painted on his face and the conductor and other CMs spoke with him and he was super-shy but super-happy.

DF had to have a go at the shooting gallery. I think he didn't miss a shot. Almost all German men have to serve a year in the military, so DF likes to try his shot at games like this. Especially as I would never be okay with him having a gun in our home.

Next was Indy. The wait had been long all day and we had used our FPs elsewhere (very successfully I think) so we signed on for the 70 minute wait. Anticipating DF's mutation into Grumpy at this time I brought some trivial pursuit pop culture cards and we went back and forth. It was fun although we were really bad. We got about 1/6 right. We liked Indy but DF said he would never wait over 30 minutes for it again .

We headed out of the park to Downtown Disney. We searched the World of Disney Store. I didn't find anything I wanted. I was really sad because I was excited to spend my money there getting Disney things (especially a sweatshirt). I wanted a character one other than Tink, Pooh, Mickey, and Minnie. DF bought two t-shirts for himself and one for a friend in Germany as a surprise. We bought 3x because it was the largest they had and I still haven't found out if it fit DF's neighbor.

We had reservations at the Rainforest Cafe but we were about an hour early. We walked there slowly. We checked in when we got there just in case. They had us seated 5 minutes later! We were next to the elephants and I loved it. We got to see the rainstorm twice and thought it was a lot of fun. The giant fish tank and all the decor was so impressive. We had pot roast and fajitas and cocktails and thought the food, drinks, and service were exceptional.

Back into DL for Splash Mountain with a 2 minute FP line. It was fun this time but we got even more wet and DF had to take off his shirt and just wear his sweater (which he had wisely not worn on the ride).

The fireworks were at 9:30. We did more trivia cards while sitting and waiting. It was our first time seeing this show and we both really liked it. I liked it more though because I recognize all the references.

I wanted to do Space one more time so we raced over there and the wait was 60 minutes. DF was too tired for that. We passed by Buzz and he didn't even want to wait the 25 minutes for it.

We drove home. It was easy to get out of the park when we left 15 minutes after the fireworks ended. However, the freeway narrowed to one lane further north and there was HORRIBLE traffic that took us an extra hour to get through.

Overall, the DL part of the day was magical. :-D

That is a nicely detailed report, WDWd.

Not really commando, but doing a lot in one day. I didn't quite decide if this was your DF's first visit or not, but he certainly enjoyed himself.

The references to the differences between his culture and ours were amusing. Defeating him on Buzz may make your relationship a bit more difficult, however. You know we men have quite fragile egos.

Thanks for sharing a good day with us.

This was my DF's third visit. He proposed at Club 33 the last time we went together(March 12,2007). My uncle is a Club 33 member and it was my first time in the club as well as DF's.

We're both very competitive. When I first realized I was sure I wanted to date him was when we were playing a card game with friends and he was deliberately making me have the lowest score possible. Turn-ons can be very wacky. It was the 4th time we met and we knew it'd be long distance. We were both kinda shy at the start.

Thanks for reading.

Fabulous trip report!
I really enjoyed reading it!
You sure got to do a lot in one day and it sounds like you did all the really great things.
We really love the Rainforest Cafe too.
The atmosphere and the food!
Your DF is not the only one horrified by that little girls' shirt and many others.
Last time I saw a 3 year old wearing a shirt that said "Little runt, likes to hunt" It left me shaking my head!
Glad you had such a great day at Disneyland!

yea! Storybook Land Canal Boats! It's my favorite attraction and it doesn't get enough props. I'm glad you liked it.
