Hi Folks. Just back from the DLR.

The kids had been dancing and singing with Pocahontas and Farley the fiddler. When Farley took a break between sets, we headed out to get some lunch. I headed for Bengal BBQ, and the rest of the family headed for Rancho. A few minutes later I got a call from my DW that the kids had been kidnapped by Pocahontas and they were sitting near the petrified tree waving at the canoes.

Funny, in this setting Pocahontas did not create much of a crowd. In fact when some kids did recognize her there and asked for autographs and pictures she said she'd be taking pictures and signing autograph books when she returned to her location in front of the mercantile once Farley returned. She didn't actually turn anyone away, however. If they gave her a book, she gladly signed it anyway. I think she was just having fun hanging out.

The kids really loved it.

That's wonderful. So simple, but one of the best Disneyland stories I've heard in recent memory.

Doobie.

It's the little things like that the help keep the magic alive at Disneyland.

When we took DD when she was 4, we were walking towards Ariel's Grotto into Tomorrowland. We saw Princess Aurora walking towards the castle, and my daughter ran up to her. She took her by the hand and walked with her to the castle, and she was the first one in line to get the pictures and autograph with her. I have the pics somewhere, but I know it was with my 35mm..I'll have to find it and scan it.

Pocahontas also "kidnapped" a friend's daughter at WDW. My friend has a great pic of the two of them skipping down an empty walk way.

xPPx, We had a similar incident with Cinderella a few years ago. My DD was probably 4 or 5. Cinderella was walking towards the Castle from Carnation Gardens area and was walking past where we were standing. She took DD by the hand and walked over to the side of the castle where she did a meet and greet. She took probably 5-10 minutes with DD just chatting away. More than would be expected, and truly a memory that will remain with me forever.

*sniff*
