Topic: Confusing Legoland (California) ad

There's a TV ad currently running in Southern California for Legoland's "Land of Adventure" ride* that looks a *whole* lot like something from the Indiana Jones franchise. In fact, my reaction on seeing the ad was, "Oh, so Legoland has an Indy ride, too." It was only after I'd seen it a few times that my brain kicked in and said, "That can't be right!" (Okay, so I'm a little slow sometimes.)

Next time it came on, I paid closer attention and, no, they don't mention Indy. Somehow I could have sworn they did, but they don't.

Anybody else find this ad confusing? Misleading?

-----
*It may not be a ride. Maybe it's a show, or a whole new park. I can't tell from the ad.

Lego makes Indiana Jones Legos, and there is also a Lego Indy video game, so there could certainly be an attraction or show at Legoland based on Indiana Jones.

I looked at the legoland site - it's a new land with 4 rides and they have a new show. Included in Land of Adventure is a buzz type ride with lasers and scores. Legoland says this is their first dark ride....
There is also a new show.

The point is that it isn't Indy. It's some guy in a fedora and leather jacket searching through a dusty Egyptian tomb who "just happens" to look like Indy.

That's Johnny Thunder, one of the main lego characters before Indy and Lego came together. In Legoland Windsor we have the Johnny Thunder (he's australian) stunt show, but we also had an Indy day earlier this season to mark the release of the lego sets and the movie.

I would really hope this new Sally Dark ride makes it to the European Legolands.

I was at the movie theater yesterday & saw a preview for the next "Mummy" movie--and I was stuck on what it could be other than another "Indiana Jones" movie.

They don't identify him as such in the ad. It's just an anonymous Indy-ish guy. I saw it again on TV last night (they're showing it so often on the local stations, it'd be hard to avoid), and I still think they're trying to imply they've got Indy without actually saying they do.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
