I'm suprised we've not heard anything yet about the annual Disney's Star Festival. Anyone had a chance to make it down to the park yet and make a wish.

Video of this years Tanabata Greeting can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...6XlcZ6Mk

I have to admit this is one of my favourite TDR events as the inspiration comes from Japan. Reason why events like St Patricks Day and St David's Day at Disneyland Paris also rate high. These are events that celebrate local cultures, also Chinese New Years at Hong Kong Disneyland is another great example, as is July the 4th in the US parks.

One of the few rare chances to see Mickey and Minnie in Kimono, a very fun time of year at TDL for sure (I don't think TDS commemorates it in any way, but I can't be sure).

I haven't been in this year, but I believe there are some other LPers in town right now. Wonder if they saw Mickey and Minnie in their kimonos??

Pluto also has a special cool costume for the event, as does Goofy (Donald, I think, saves his Japanese wear for DisneySea in the show to promote restaurant Sakkura).

We went a few times and it was really fun! My mothers group decided to do a baby jinbei party and we had lunch at Hokusai. The wishing cards were the color of the 25th anniversary and you could get a special sparkle wish card when ordering one of the Tanabata set menu's. The shaved ice also became available for purchase the first day of this event! It's a little event but it really creates a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed it both with friends and as a family. :)
