There is no doubt after listening to this recording that this lady clearly had talent at a young age. 12 yrs old and she was hitting some really high notes! Anyhow, I enjoyed it, hope you do too.

Thank you so much, Elderp. She is such a gift to the world. I am so grateful she will live on forever through her music. She renders me speechless and tearful every time I hear and see clips of her and her movies and recordings.

Thanks again for sharing.

Interesting clip. The spoken intro was kind of painful, but she sure could sing up a storm.

There is a 1948 animated feature called "The Singing Princess" (original title "Rose of Bagdad") that features the voice of young Julie in the surprisingly small title role.

It's a bad English dub of a bad Italian movie. The animation is alright, but the story draaaaags. As if that wasn't enough, the DVD turns parts of it into gibberish by trying (unsuccessfully) to edit around an extremely un-PC major plot point.

Nevertheless, it is out there and available from Netflix (who by the way has the year of release wrong). The cover art looks nothing like the actual movie.
