| vbdad55 Mon 7/7/2008 8:26a | When ( not if ) Rich Harden arrives here any concerns go away. CC is a good pitcher - no doubt, but did another lefty Johann Santana who was going to set the world on fire do so yet in the national league. And I have ultimate faith Ben Sheets cannot make it thru an entire season with getting hurt.
It makes is more interesting to be sure today - but worried - nope
Also CC is a rental - he will be a Yankee next year, which is why most GM's stayed away |

He already missed a start earlier in the year. But it's a contract year Sheeter will be out there.

Hey when you don't make the playoffs let alone sniff for a good 26 years you do what you can.

you mean kinda like not being in a World Series for 63 years or winning one in 100 ?
Which iswhy I think the Cubs will spend whatever necessary to get there this year, once they are sold all bets are off ( Of course if the buyer ends up Mark Cuban then $ is not an issue )

Yes, I think the Twins got the better end of that trade. People had been saying that his final year in Minnesota was just a bad year for him and that his Cy Young years were more typical. Ends up the Cy Young years were flukes and his 2007 Minnesota performance was more typical.
He is still a very good pitcher, but certainly not worth what the Mets are paying him.

| vbdad55 Tue 7/8/2008 5:18p | I told ya DAR -- we'll see your CC Sabatthia with Rich Harden ( deal just done for one prospect - Sean gallagher who is almost Hardin's age) - and from what wehearnow - A J Burnett will be here before the All Star game also...
I feel much better right now...
should be fun the rest of the year - just need Soriano back now. |

| beamerdog Thu 7/10/2008 11:01p | Anyone want Phils' Brett Myers?
I have a theory that the anger management therapy he had to go through has affected his pitching. Oh yes, and flipping him back and forth from the bullpen to starter. It's a sad place for the season's opening pitcher to be.
The Phils took the series today. Maybe they've overcome the losing streak. |

| vbdad55 Fri 7/11/2008 7:58p | that's OK - our #3 starter this year - Rich Hill in rookie ball and people are still drawing him maps as to where home plate is located. |
