We're off to Hong Kong in a week! Staying in Tsim Sha Tsui (whatever that means, I've never been to HK) - my sister stays there regularly and knows the area well but is normally there for business, so would like some suggestions of some fun / touristy things to do. We arrive next Tuesday and only really have time to have dinner and fall asleep ... we're doing 2 days at HKDL now, we were only going to do 1 but a second day is about AUS $15 so we figured we'd go for it. Then we leave Sunday night.

Does anyone have any tour recommendations? Any 'must dos'? Also, my sister said to ask if Ocean Park is any good? Thanks for your help!

Have afternoon tea at the Peninsula. It is simply an unforgettable experience. The Peninsula is Hong Kong's oldest "grand dame" at 80 years old but is still considered by many to be the world's best hotel. And it's also located in Tsim Sha Tsui (translated, it means deep sand mouth), so you won't have to walk far. Also don't miss going to the Peak and catching a glimpse of the city from the uppermost level. Simply breathtaking!

I was kinda sorta joking... I have never been to HK. LOL. But if I was going there, I would probably have a suit made, since you can get a very high quality one at a low price. And it would be special... you could tell people you had it custom made in HK. A story and a memory you could wear!

Of course you have to ride the Star Ferry, eat dim sum, or have a seafood meal on the Jumbo floating. restaurant. Here's one opinion of a top 10; sounds good to me:

Wow where do I start on places to see and visit during a trip to Hong Kong. Visiting Hong Kong Disneyland is a must, cute little park with so much potential. If your visiting the park on two days may I recomend on one of the days visiting Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car and Tian Tan Buddha for half a day, as its not to far from the park and is only one stop from Sunny Bay. The views on the cable car are stunning.

If your visiting the Peak try going late afternoon and staying for the evening. That way you will have a night and day view. The Peak also offers quite a few restaurants, so you might like to get a bite to eat too.

Harbour Cruise is a must, and also if you get the chance visit the History Museum as its a bargain admission price and is a fantastic way to spend a few hours. Also you may like to spend the day over in Macau which in its own right is a very interesting destination.

Ocean Park is ok but not worth visiting unless you have time. After about 4 hours I was ready to leave. Also Ocean Park is full of construction at the moment and you probarely wouldn't find vaule in it.

Heh, I got that, but come on, we're two young girls - of course shopping is a priority!

Thanks Malin for your help! Sounds like you had a great trip.
