thinking about making a trip to disneyland/california adventures sometime in aug. We would either go for 1 day or maybe even 2 days to visit the parks. It would be August 12th, or 13th or both or maybe even August 19th and 20th...both on tuesday and wed. how packed do you think the park would be on these days? i heard the park is less busy this summer because of gas prices. any help or opionons are greatly appeciated! thanks!

I think in general later would be better, but the 19th and 20th are the first days that S Cal. passholders are allowed back in. So, I think you're about 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other, especially comparing the two Mondays more tourists on the 12th, more passholders on the 19th.

If you can swing the second day I would really try to do that, but I know sometimes it's just not possible. If you can't swing the second day, I would buy a one park only pass and go just to Disneyland. It's about $10 cheaper than a parkhopper, and you'll find PLENTY at Disneyland to fill one day to the brim.

ya see thats why im so confused..if i go the eariler week then all the passholders are blacked out so they can't go but the tourist will end up there and then if i go later the tourist are prolly going back home to get ready for school, however, the passholders can now enter the park...ughh i would go in sept when all the kiddies in cali go to school, but i'm taking my little brother w/ me and he starts school aug 27th....

Go for the first one, says I. The tourist population is way down this year. Something to do with $4.50/gal. gas.

The locals, on the other hand, are already here.

Traditionally, second Saturday in August is usually one of the busiest day of the year...

I would take the later dates. On weekdays even APs are more likely to be working, or getting ready for back-to-school. There may be a mad rush back to the parks on the 17th, a Sunday, the first day SoCal APs are allowed back in. But it should calm down after that. And really, what % of parkgoers on any given day are SoCal APers?

If you have only 1 day, I'd do Wednesday the 20th.
