| AutoPost Thu 7/24/2008 3:44p | This topic is for Discussion of LP Lotion: A Sneak Peek at the Walt Disney Family Museum On Friday, July 18, Jeff Kurtti, representing the Walt Disney Family Museum, presented a detailed look at the Museum for the NFFC National Convention. The Museum, currently under construction in San Francisco, is scheduled to open in the late summer of 2009. |

They put the later recent Toon studio stuff instead of the real McCoys for two of the animated films(Cinderella and Peter Pan. I hope they don't put that in the final stage.
As Walt puts it, "You can't top pigs with pigs." |

It sounded like a great idea, and love the multiplane camera being housed on 2 floors so you can get a unique perspective as seen from up top. |

Yep, people noticed - including Jeff. He actually pointed out the goof to the audience during the presentation.

Kinda surprising to me. I wasn't thrilled with the Presidio essentially becoming a for-profit venture for the government, but at least they're trying to find uses for some of the old post buildings instead of letting them rot or selling the land under them to developers (and wouldn't they love to get their hands on it). Could be a lot worse, folks...

Don't get me wrong. I'll be there. I'll enjoy it, a lot. But its still weird.
Walt Disney in San Francisco.
OK. |

| retlawfan Thu 8/28/2008 9:22p | Remember, it is the Walt Disney Family Museum, not the Disney Company Museum.
It is where the family is.
Walt's personal awards and memorabilia have been up in San Francisco for years. It's nice that the family are opening the doors to the items for all to share.
It's going to be a great exhibit. The items that are there are truly one of a kind, and a terrific look into Walt Disney's personal history.
