My husband and I are beginning to plan a special trip for our 25th anniversay. We have been looking at either a Disney Cruise or maybe an ABD experience. The main concern I have about ABD (besides cost) is how many children and adults are on the trip. On the cruise, there are adult only areas when you need a break from other peoples children. Don't get me wrong, we like well behaved kids, but I get a vision of being trapped on endless tour busses with the children from He**. Has anyone been to both experiencs? I would be grateful for the info.

digby7 - unless it has changed for '09 there are Adult Only experiences on ABD. However even if there are children the group size is usually small enough to not have any impact (and usually the Adventure Guides ensure that the kids have their own experiences).

Many of the experiences for ABD have changed but I would definitely recommend them over DCL. DCL is a nice experience and if you want a more relaxing vacation then that is definitely the right choice. ABD is more my style.

Thanks leemac, That gives me a better perspective to base some decision making on! I have spent the summer listening to kids in our neighbors pool and I am a little cranky right now about the possibility of our trip turning into an afternoon at the pool!

LOL - no worries.

I would definitely give MouseEar Vacations a call or look at their website. Their advice was very good (you can find the link on LP). I know that they are a LP sponsor but they were exceptional in helping to make decisions. I believe several of the advisers have been on ABD itineraries.

I shared you advice with Mr.Digby7(and checked out the recommended site) and he said he was all for relaxing vs not so and the kids voted for the food on the cruise. They will be both adults in college by time we go and they both liked the idea of the college get togethers on board. So cruise it is for our 25th, but I reserve the right to go on an ABD sometime even if I go alone!
Thanks leemac for your help!
