My wife and I have owned DVC since 1999 and we are still amazed at how the Beach Club only has preferred view rooms . All I want to say here is to beware when you make reservations at the BC. All rooms are not created equal, although point usage is the same. When we checked in 3 weeks ago we were put in a room that basically overlooked a road and some ugly pine trees. After several phone calls we managed to get switched to a pool view. The point I'm trying to make is that while there is no differentiation in the amount of points used at the BC for any room, there is a definite difference in the room views. I think DVC has a lot of nerve charging the same amount of points for a view of the road ( which they try to sell you as an "Epcot View") as they do for a pool view or even a view of Ariels Grotto. All DVC owners should get together and demand that there be standard or preferred view rooms at the BC so when you make your plans, you will know what view you are getting before you get there. At least then you can decide if you want to use more points to get a pool view.
