Well, hopefully THIS rumor I've heard will NOT come true, but it seems that TDR is finally going the way of DisneyWorld and getting rid of a great deal of its atmosphere entertainment in the next few months!

From what I've heard, they will be firing (TDS) Desert Wind Players, Staten Island Ragtime Band, Jump Rope Kids, Rainforest Monkeys, Buckaneer Brigands, the Alchemist, Tap-Happy Two (already gone), Gondola Singers...well, essentially ALL the entertainment except for the two bands...and (TDL) Sax Five, Royal Street Six, Bicycle Pianist, and they are disbanding and restructuring the Tokyo Disneyland Band into a smaller (cheaper) group.

Which leaves BOTH parks with pretty much just the two main marching bands and practically nothing else.

Sad but true, as far as I know.

So, anyone who enjoys "streetmosphere" at TDR should make it a point to find and enjoy all these talented groups over the next few months before they are gone.

This bums me out especially regarding DisneySea, where I've always pointed out here in these forums has had (up until now, looks like) the MOST atmosphere entertainment of any Disney park which is part of what made it so special for me! Too bad it seems those days are gone! :(

Oh yeah, and Sail Away might be sailing away, and Encore might be having their last encore. *bursts into tears*

That's a shame Mr.X. I've been hearing the same from other friends. A big part of the park is streetmosphere in my opinion. Sad. -- MagicalNezumi

NOT good news at all. I am very disappointed to learn of this. The news about Sail Away and Encore ending is not new but why kill the streetsmosphere? Time for TDR fans in Japan to get busy and start the writting campaign.

>>>Time for TDR fans in Japan to get busy and start the writting campaign.<<<

Seems to me that the best thing park patrons could do would be to go to guest relations with an enthusiastic compliment, if you see some entertainment that really made your day more special. It'd be great if lots of people when to guest relations and said "I saw "Royal Street Six" (for example) today and they were very entertaining. I hope that you continue to add more and more entertainment around the parks, as that is a big part of what makes visiting Tokyo Disney Resort special for me", or something to that effect. :)

Nice to hear from TDLFAN and MN right away! I knew you guys would be right on the bandwagon to support great entertainment in the parks!

See you both at Rhythms sometime soon! :D

But, but...I (I mean, er...Rhythms) haven't even DEBUTED yet!! What about pics of the OPENING DAY cast, and all that!?

I'm quite sure that the Jammitors MC for opening day will be FAR superior to that guy that's been "filling in"! :p

Is the killing of all this entertainment all down to budget cuts?
