Very interesting, Henson was going to buy Disney. Hmmm. Let hope Disney buys Henson and we will have a wonder family entertainment company.

Yes,Very Interesting,Indeed. If Jim Henson brought the Disney Company, what would happened to the Fad Five(Mickey and his friends)Would Henson made muppets out of them for TV specials? And what about the Disney Theme parks?Would he lets the classic Muppets run loose all over the place? Not just in one place of the park(Like Muppetvision 3D in DCA).

Muppet Vision 3-D was oringally made for Disney MGM Studio at WDW and also Muppet used to appear at the Studios as Rubber-heads. There was even a rubber-hear show called "Here come the Muppets" at the studio. The studios also has a Kermit and Fozzie puppet in a ballon at the studio backlot tour. Finally there is a very good Muppet Store at the Studio that more detailed than one at DCA. So the Muppets have been in more than one Disney park but their mostly found at the Disney Studio in WDW.

I remember hearing about the "Little Mermaid's Island" show and at the time I did not think it had anything to do with Henson (I thought maybe it would be like Disney Channel's "Pooh Corner" or "Dumbo's Circus"). With Henson involved, I think it would have been done right.

What is stopping them from making this series now? Disney and Henson currently produce "Bear in the Big Blue House." You'd think they could do this "Mermaid" show too.

Some of the stories created for this show actually DID materialize as storybooks. The stories featured Ariel, Sebastian, Scuttle, Founder, and Sandy (Flounder's sister----think of Flounder colored pink with purple stripes and eyelashes).

I wonder if Disney will ever put the pilot on a special DVD edition of the "Little Mermaid"

I'm still here, having just read the latest Jim Hill Column on the Muppets (Aug.14) and I have to say is if Disney and Henson had gotten together then and if Jim Henson didn't died, then the Muppets might been even more popular nowdays because of the force of the Disney/Henson publicity would push the Muppets in everybody's faces to remind the people of how funny the Muppets are.

We can only shed salty tears of regret at the loss of this wonderful man and the Muppet magic that might have been.
