| wtg2000 Fri 8/10/2001 6:09a | The report was great, although I shaded my eyes sometimes since I don't want to know too much. I'm hoping to go in September, as soon as I can find out ticket information, but it seems very difficult to find any practical info, even at the official site. I have this fear of showing up and discovering that all the tickets have been sold out in advance.
I've even emailed some people who seem connected with TDS, but have heard nothing. I fear I'll soon become a nuisance. |

| dennis-in-ct Fri 8/10/2001 6:12a | Oh... one more thing.... I thought the Auqasphere was supposed to be covered in water using some new fountain technique. It doesn't look that way in the photo.
Another impression I get looking at these photos is TDS seems like a hybrid design of Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Does it "feel" that way in person?
Again - I can't thank you enough for doing this. You should consider buying as many TDS videosouvenirs and put them on EBAY.. oh heck, just buy them and resell to us!!! I'll pay top dollar :) |

| HyperTyper Fri 8/10/2001 7:31a | Why, WHY, *WHY* didn't they at least TRY to do something like this in Anaheim instead of California Adventure? I could just cry. Y'know, it's not too late to level DCA and start over.
A thrilling read ... a brilliant park. Thanks for the article.
*sigh* |

HOWEVER we must remember the reason why Eisner and Pressler haven't gone out of the way to do the same in California: most of the planet is heading into a recession now. It doesn't make sense to invest more heavily than necessary and the bigger, more powerful, less Disneyfanatic shareholders would be upset if Disney spent a fortune on themeing that isn't going to bring in an immediate revenue.
But balance needs to be struck. A good deal of us will already be reserving our plane flights to Tokyo on the basis of those pictures alone. And the damage done to DCA by cutting corners may be larger than the original savings. I think Disney should have planned at least a couple more hefty TDS-style attractions for DCA's launch. |

| woody Fri 8/10/2001 8:12a | Since Disney USA is into saving costs, why couldn't they build DisneySeas in Anaheim with the same rides?
DCA is very pitiful compared to TDS, the next wonder. |
