| coral%5Fbarks Fri 10/19/2001 9:40p | Golly. With all the "Disney is being cheap and low-quality" talk going around, I didn't expect this. The ride looks absolutely awesome. I wish I lived in California (well, I would wish that anyway, but this is one more reason).
Can anyone comment on the new soundtrack? Did they incorporate the movie's score? How does the new narrator compare with the Incomparable Paul Frees (at least, I assume the narration is new; or did they just insert a few pieces in addition to the classic Ghost Host)? |

| DL%2D2000 Fri 10/19/2001 9:46p | Nice update, but I really wish I could see the video files. Could you post them in something a little more standardized like .mpeg or .mov? |

| doombuggy Fri 10/19/2001 10:04p | I've seen a few people asking on here who is the voice and face of the new Leota and after watching the video clip I know the voice is Catherine O'Hara |

| coral%5Fbarks Fri 10/19/2001 10:25p | Half the videos _are_ in MPEG. The other half (the interviews) are in RealMedia to allow inclusion of sound (pretty vital) while maintaining workable file sizes. (I am guessing LP's motivations here based on my experience with these media types.)
RealMedia is fairly standard in low-cost (as in bandwidth costs) web media transmission, and the player is available from http://www.real.com (they have a free player buried there somewhere). |

| Doobie Sat 10/20/2001 12:12a | coral_barks is correct, all the in-ride clips are in MPG (the seance and graveyard include sound as well). The file sizes are pretty large, so we only use MPG when the clip is short and/or the video quality is very important. For the interviews, where video quality is not as important, we prefer to use RealVideo to keep download time short.

| Doobie Sat 10/20/2001 12:21a | The narration is completely new. It's a variation on 'twas the Night Before Christmas. It's done my Corey Burton. As far as I'm concerned, it's almost indistinguishable from Paul Frees. But it is entirely new and different.

| TimothyC Sat 10/20/2001 12:25a | Speaking of the video files, there seems to be a problem with the larger version of the Graveyard video. Opens with the quicktime logo, but then the quicktime logo changes to the broken piece of film. Is it just me? |
