It is amazing the learn about the effort and steps that were needed to get the characters moving on CP and other attractions. I would be nice to see that same effort put into upgrading CP to new technology so it doesn't end up on the scrap pile like to many of the other great old Disney attractions.

I like reading about all the stuff that I never got to see or do at the park. Sort of puts me there when I read these. Another good article. Thanks guys.

More wonderful insights from Mr. Gurr! I love these things.

It struck me, when reading it, how exciting it must've been working for Walt Disney. He was always pushing the envelope, developing new tools and techniques for improving story-telling. He never stopped innovating, and was never satisfied with the status quo.

This attitude is, I think, lacking at Disney today. That's not to say that they never innovate any more. It's just that they seem to do it a heck of a lot less than when Walt was running the show.

I wholeheartedly agree, PH. I've read the Imagineering book many times and the part that really amazes me was how much effort went into the park, and how much Walt was involved in the whole process.

See. He writes so interestingly. I want to read a long book about all of this. You know. 4 volumes long with detailed descriptions of every step for every attracion. It is just fascinating.

Thanks to Mr. Gurr, we feel like there is still a thread to Walt Disney. He and those few that are like him, remind us that Disneyland isn't about thrill rides, but artistry. I too, appreciate all columns where the Disney Magic of the past, still reigns.

I hope Bob Gurr does write a book. I'd buy two, a book to get read and referenced and the other to have signed and placed on the mantel.
