I enjoyed reading the review of this very interesting DVD set.

I really enjoyed both the Pollyanna and Parent Trap DVD sets with all the interviews and comentaries with Swift and Mills. Taken together the two sets cover a lot of ground and each was very interesting in it own way.

Very interesting reading on Pollyana. I am nostalgic for those turn-of-the-century films, like the era depicted on Mainstreet U.S.A. even though they were 100 years ago. Thanks toon-kirby.

Thanks for the great report, TK! I have yet to watch my Pollyanna and Parent Trap DVDs--I'm too busy, so now I'm even more excited to watch them. I hadn't realized that David Swift also wrote Candleshoe--one of my other favorite Disney live-action films. I'd love to know how they baked the cakes for Pollyana and the Parent Trap--they probably weren't real, but wow--I always wanted cakes like those for my bday when I was a kid.
Thanks again, Kirby.

I must confess I am a sucker for the sentimentality that came from movies like Pollyanna, they remind me so much of Main Street. No wonder Walt liked it so much, there is much of his childhood in it. It may have been his favorite movie but I think it was one of the best he ever produced and one of my favorites too. Thanks to him for making it, we are so much richer for it. Hayley gave one of her greatest performances and David Swift his too, no wonder Walt didn't want to cut anything, it is a jewel the way it is. It is so rich in detail.

I didn't remember Pollyanna much from my childhood, but bought the DVD based on the review here. True confession...I cried! My kids absolutely loved the scene where the townspeople brought all the gifts. I was trying to nonchalantly wipe away tears.

I especially enjoyed the extra features. The restoration process was interesting and it was fun to see Hayley again.

So glad (there's that word again!) to hear that you have all enjoyed the review and, of course, the DVD.
