This same group did a beautiful shopping center strip mall type of thing here in Atlanta...It all centered around a giant pond that had row after row of golden frogs that were perched right at the water level...Well, it didn't go over and their wonderful design has now been bulldozed....This design group does do some wonderful things but I just wish Disney would get out of this cookie cutter mold when doing new accomadations...But that isn't likely to happen any time soon considering there really isn't a market right now for such... |

Yes they do have hamburgers and Pizza, as usual. They also have soyburgers, pasta, salads, vegetable lo main, shrimp lo mein (and the shrimp looked Good), soups, and decent desserts. We had friendly smiling service in a pleasant atmosphere. I had the pan-seared fish-of-the-day, which yesterday happened to be salmon. It was a decent sized portion - not huge, and came with a tasty pilaff, and sauteed string beans that were only slightly more cooked than I prefer and very nicely flavored. My daughter had Pizza - it was typical Disney pizza with the pressed biscuit-style crust, nothing special. We shared a slice of chocolate peanut butter cake. It was good enough.
I honestly don't understand how anyone can go to Walt Disney World and say that the only casual dining options are hamburgers and hot dogs. All the counter service places have at least one or two decent food options. If you go in there with the mindset that all you will find is junk, and don't try the specials and other options, you are cheating yourself. |

The fact it is always filthy is another matter.
For some unknown reason they put carpeting down in the seating area and it is gross. It would have to be steam-cleaned every night to keep it clean and I doubt it's been done once. The booths are made of the cheapest materials possible and are falling apart now only seven months after opening.
When I complain about Disney's standards falling, it's things like this I am talking about.
I would be embarrassed to be a manager or even a CM at PC and try and defend why a new food court is in such shabby condition.
Simple reason though. they didn't use quality materials, and the don't maintain the facility.

There should be a place where someone who does not want to deal with a Food Court, server your self setup and a slightly more diverse selection is available. I love options like ESPN Club or Big River Brewing at Boardwalk. These are mid-level dining with a wider selection and table service. Same thing goes for Kona Cafe and the Concourse Steakhouse. I am ticked that the restuarant was removed from CBR. Plus, it is not easy to resort hop from the value hotels. Food Courts are fine for a quick breakfast or lunch; but I usually want something more for dinner. I also like having my kids in a restuarant enviroment so I can teach them how to behave. [That is another thread all together that is going, so I will leave it at that]
I am a service snob, I admit that. |

Do WHAT? Are you confusing CBR with POFQ? Or have they now closed Shutters in addition to having closed Bonfamille's Cafe back in August 2k? |

| Labuda Fri 7/16/2004 6:10a | Oh, yeah, I was going to respond to this in regards to the article itself. Rasvar just freaked me out with his post. hehe
Anyhow, great article and WONDERFUL photos, and I'm curious - what type of camera was used for these photos?
Oh, and when will Baloo be getting a pedicure? Those nails are AWFULLY long! |

| rasvar Fri 7/16/2004 6:16a | Is there still a sit-down full service restuarant in CBR? Someone had told me that it had been removed with the renovation that was done last year. If I am wrong, I'm sorry for the misinformation. |
